Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Join us this week as we celebrate Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with a special theme of “Be-longing: praying for unity amidst injustice.”

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity runs from 18 – 25 January.

Our focus this year comes from the Prophet Isaiah and his call to “Do good; seek justice” (Isaiah 1:17).

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the murder of Stephen Lawrence, and so we are invited to enter into this week with a special focus on racial injustice and the divisions that impact unity in our society, and to pray together for the unity for which Christ prayed.

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland have produced a number of resources to help you journey with us during this week, which can be accessed by clicking here.

People across our diocese are also invited to join Christians across Britain and Ireland for a special service for Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which will be streamed via Zoom at 7.30pm on Tuesday 24 January.
