Season of Creation Service

St John Fisher's, Manchester Road, Kearsley, BL4 8QQ
Wednesday 4th October 2023
7pm

This year’s Season of Creation will come to an end with a prayerful service at one of our picturesque parishes.

The service will take place on Wednesday 4th October at the parish of St John Fisher – home of the beautiful Schoenstatt shrine – in Kearsley.

This wonderful parish is also home to The Hope Garden – an accessible, sensory outdoor space that enables the community to come together or to spend time in private prayer and reflection amidst stunning views and the beautiful plants and flowers of the garden.

No visit to the garden is complete without studying its fantastic plastic bottle top  mosaic. This colourful work of art is made up of 2,000 – 3,000 plastic bottle tops collected by the parish and depicts a vibrant rainbow, a lighthouse, and the image of the Schoenstatt chapel. Written across the centre is the word “Hope” – a positive message to the parish and the key sentiment of our diocese as we continue to work for a future of sustainability and healing.

As such, this is the ideal place to bring this year’s Season of Creation to a close, as we join together with people across our diocese in prayer and reflect on how our parish, school, and community groups can work together to bring justice and peace to our corner of creation.

The service will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 4th October. All are welcome to join!
