Loving Earth Project: Manchester Textile Exhibition

Various locations
Thursday 3rd November 2022

The Hidden Gem Church in Manchester is taking part in a city-wide exhibition exploring the wonder and fragility of our world through handcrafted textile panels.

The Loving Earth Project exhibition features over 70 beautiful and thought-provoking panels that will be shown across six unique and historic city centre buildings in Manchester, including our own Hidden Gem church in Mulberry Street.

The panels were made as a creative way of engaging with climate breakdown. Participants reflected on all the wonderful things in this world that we love and want to pass on to future generations. The slow, creative process also helped them think about solutions.

Over 400 panels have been made by individuals from the UK and other countries. Many were exhibited at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2021 (COP26). A selection will feature in the Manchester exhibition, coinciding with the COP 27 talks (6th-18th November 2022).
