Fr Robert Morrow RIP Obituary and Funeral Details

We are sorry to share the sad news that Fr Robert Morrow died peacefully on Sunday 8^th February at Little Sisters of the Poor Care Home in Longsight. Fr Morrow was in his ninety first year, the sixty seventh year of his Sacred Priesthood.

Robert was born on 10^th August 1935 in Beaghbeg, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim and baptised that same day at St Mary’s Church, Carrigallen. He was educated at St Mary’s Apostolic School in Moyne, Co. Longford and St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny.

Robert was accepted as an Ecclesiastical student for the Diocese of Salford in February 1954, continuing at  St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny.

Father Robert Morrow was ordained to the Priesthood on 31^st May 1959 at St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny.

Fr Morrow served  the Diocese of Salford in the following appointments:

1959-1960:     St. Wilfrid, Hulme                  Assistant Priest

1960-1960:     St. Anne, Oldham                   Assistant Priest

1960-1968:     St. Wilfrid, Hulme                  Assistant Priest

1968-1977:     St. Kentigern, Fallowfield       Assistant Priest

1977-1985:     St. Wilfrid, Hulme                  Parish Priest

1985-2009:     St. Joseph, Bury                      Parish Priest

 

Fr Bob retired in 2009, residing at Nazareth House, Prestwich. In December 2015, he moved to Cathedral House.

Fr Morrow’s body will be received into Guardian Angels, Bury for concelebrated Mass at 7.00pm on Tuesday 10^th March. Bishop John will celebrate the Requiem Mass at Guardian Angels on Wednesday 11^th March at 12:00noon.
