The Sacraments

At the heart of the day-to-day life of our faith are the sacraments of the Catholic Church; sacred rites that offer visible signs of God’s invisible nature.

These sacraments are central to Catholic life and worship, grounded in scripture and providing the faithful with opportunities to encounter the love and mercy of God to strengthen us on our journey of faith.

In total, the Church recognises seven sacraments: Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and the Anointing of Sick.
