Diocesan schools join Laudato Si’ Centre to send message to COP27

Wednesday 26th October 2022

As world leaders prepare to gather for COP27, our very own Laudato Si’ Centre is leading a digital campaign to speak out in defence of our common home.

As the UK passes over COP presidency to Egypt on 7th November, the Laudato Si’ Centre is eager to continue the legacy by giving young people a platform for their voices to be heard.

Keeping the teaching of Pope Francis in Laudato Si’ at the heart of this campaign, the centre is using the hashtag #hearthecry to join young people’s voices together to send a powerful message to world leaders at COP27.

Schools and families across the diocese can take part by creating posters presenting their hopes of greener energy or cleaner seas, or concerns around pollution or deforestation, and sharing them on social media using the hashtag #hearthecry from Monday 31st October.

Colour-in templates are also available to download by clicking here or scrolling to the bottom of the page.

We ask you to be kind to our planet throughout the campaign, using recycled or sustainable products wherever possible.

Once your final posters are complete, please do share on your school or parent/guardian’s social media using the #hearthecry and tagging in @laudatosicentre. You can also email them to us at communications@dioceseofsalford.org.uk

Thank you for joining us in this campaign and taking action to build a greener, fairer future for all.
