Salford Cathedral Concert Series: Emmeline Ensemble
Salford Cathedral, 250 Chapel St, Salford M3 5LESaturday 5th March 2022
3pm
We’re excited to announce Salford Cathedral’s Monthly Concert Series! The series begins on Saturday 5 March at 3pm with the Emmeline Ensemble. The Concert Series will continue with a wide variety of musicians throughout term-time, taking place on the first Sunday of each month.
Salford Cathedral’s Director of Music Alex Patterson said: “Our new concert series aims to provide a platform for a range of musicians to make music in the glorious acoustic of the Cathedral. From instrumental to choral music, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. Admission is completely free but there is a retiring collection for our Cathedral Music Foundation to support the work of the Music Department.”
The Emmeline Ensemble is named after one of the most influential Mancunians, suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. They met at the Royal Northern College of Music, graduating in 2018. The group have played in famous venues across the UK, such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. Their repertoire is varied and exciting – we can’t wait to hear them make the most of Salford Cathedral’s wonderful atmosphere.
