International Masses across our diocese
Thursday 31st October 2019Parishes across our diocese have a wonderful sense of community. Our parishes are made up of people who come from a vibrant range of backgrounds and experiences, brought together in unity by our faith.
To reflect this vibrancy across our diocese there are a number of Masses said in different languages.
Italian Mass
On the fourth Sunday of every month at 3pm, Mass is celebrated in Italian at Saint Mary’s (The Hidden Gem La Gemma Nascosta), Mulberry Street, Manchester.
All are very welcome to attend.
Romanian Mass
A Mass will be said for the Romanian community at 11.30 every Sunday. This will take place at St Ambrose Barlow, Princess Road, Chorlton, Manchester.
The Mass will be celebrated by Fr Marcel Mititelu.
Urdu Mass
A Mass said in Urdu is held at Christ Church, Carr Road, Nelson, quarterly.
The next Mass will take place on Sunday 1st December at 3pm and those who attend are invited to stay afterwards to enjoy some food together.
Polish Mass
There are a number of Polish Masses held at St Ann’s, Ashton, each week.
African Mass
On the first Sunday of every month, people from across the diocese are invited to join the Cathedral parish in the celebration of an African Mass at the Cathedral of St John, Chapel Street, Salford. After Mass, refreshments are served in the Cathedral cloister.
The next African Mass will take place on Sunday 3rd November at 2pm.

Portuguese Mass
There are two weekly Masses for Portuguese speakers.
They are held on Sunday at 11am and Thursday at 7.30pm at St Edwards Church, 13 Thurloe Street, M14 5SG and Confession is open to those who would like to attend at 8pm on a Thursday or by appointment.
Spanish Mass
Mass in Spanish takes place monthly at Salford Cathedral. The next Mass will taken place on 17 November at 2pm. Everyone is welcome.
Mass for the Zimbabwean Community
The Zimbabwe community celebrate a monthly Mass at Our Lady of Grace, Prestwich, usually on the last Sunday of the month, at 1.30 pm.
There is also a bimonthly Mass for the Zimbabwean community at St Thomas of Canterbury in Bolton. This Mass is ususally held on the second Sunday of the month at 1pm.
