Greater Manchester Churches Together: Wellbeing and the Church

Parishes across our diocese are invited to join this year’s Greater Manchester Churches Together (GMCT) Annual Assembly on Monday 4 October.
This year’s event will be held online and have the theme of “Wellbeing and the Church”. The evening will welcome some fantastic speakers from a number of organisations, including The Bible Society, Nazarene Theological College, Church Action on Poverty, and more.
The evening will begin with shared worship led by Mick Kane, chaplain at Nazarene Theological College, which will be followed by a news update from GMCT and the evening’s keynote address from director of domestic mission at The Bible Society, Nigel Langford, who will be speaking about their new course, ‘Navigating Trauma’.
Following this, there will be workshops around themes of Poverty and Spirituality (Niall Cooper, director of Church Action on Poverty), Youth Mental Health (Matt Williamson, chief executive of Source Youthwork), The Place of Spirituality in Wellbeing (Julie Lunn, lecturer in social and practical theology at Nazarene Theological College), as well as the opportunity to hear more from the Bible Society.
This free online event will be held on Zoom on Monday 4 October between 7pm and 9pm.
