In Search of Truth and Happiness: Exploring our Holy Week Journey

Sunday 2nd April 2023

During the 40 days of Lent, we’ve been journeying with a particular challenge: to turn away from all that fails to satisfy and instead seek the true happiness we find in God Himself.

The challenge stems from the opening pages of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which says: “The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to Himself. Only in God will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for.”

Using these words as an anchor over the past six weeks, we have been meditating on the reality of this and using scripture through a series of Lectio Divina prayers to help us on the path to finding that truth and happiness. To revisit the series, please click here.

This Holy Week, our search continues by looking at how God also desires us to find this fulfilment in Him, and how time and again throughout the days of His Passion, He -out of love for us – “never ceases to draw us to Himself”: to show us the way to true happiness.
