Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Saturday 18th January 2025This week, we unite with Christians across the world in marking Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is traditionally observed between 18th and 25th January, inviting Christians across the globe to unite in prayer and solidarity.
Our theme for this year is “Do you believe this?” – a question that invites us to reflect on the story of Martha’s confession of faith, as told in John 11:17-27.
In this Gospel passage, we see Martha in the depths of grief for her brother speaking to Jesus, who promises resurrection and life through him.
As we reflect on this passage today, Jesus turns this question to each one of us, asking us to consider and to profess our faith and our hope in him.
In this “Pilgrims of Hope” Jubilee Year, we invite you to spend time this week reflecting on this theme, the fundamental aspects of our Christian faith – grounded in hope – and how we are being called to profess that in our world today.

Let us Pray
Risen Jesus, Help me to grasp the good news that you have taken the sting out of death, and given us all glorious hope. Take my fears and worries and let me fully embrace the truth. Living as a witness to others. Speaking words of faith, hope and love. Amen.
