Supporting your parish financially

Are you able to help?

Traditionally offertory collections were given in coins and notes as a weekly basis. Now most of our income is held in bank accounts there are alternative ways that many parishioners choose to use.

We do recognise that many parishioners may be in a different financial position than they were previously or struggling financially, and there is no expectation to give where you are unable to do so.

If it is appropriate for you to consider now, we have laid out the donation options available to you below.

How can I donate?

As parishes hold their income in bank accounts, standing orders are the easiest option for your regular giving – and you will no longer need to worry about having the right cash on a weekly basis.

Giving by standing order

Regular giving is the financial bedrock of your parish. It also minimises risk and costs the parish less to manage, so your money goes further.

If you have online banking you can set this up online, or you can print the standing order form for your parish found in the link below and post it to your bank or parish

Single donations

Although regular donations give your parish the best stability, single donations do of course also contribute to the financial health of the parish. We have launched an online giving facility for single donations to parishes and other diocesan funds.

Make a donation

If you have any questions about making a donation online please email communications@dioceseofsalford.org.uk

Contactless Giving

Having a contactless donation device creates an easy opportunity for parishioners to donate, particularly if they aren’t carrying cash. Nearly half of our parishes now offer this facility.

The platform that the Diocese uses is Dona Machine which is a digital collection plate designed for churches. These look like the card machines you will have seen in other churches, museums etc and are placed discreetly at the back of the Church.

Thank you to all of you who have continued to donate to your parish and other agencies of faith at this time.

Please Note:

  • This donation is not as part of a sweepstake, raffle or lottery.
  • You are not receiving anything in return for your donation e.g. book, prize or an event ticket.
  • You will receive an automated email confirming your donation
