Caretaker
Appointment Type: Full-time, permanent
Working hours: 35 hours per week to be worked over 5 days between Monday and Sunday.
Location: Cathedral Campus, Ford Street, Salford, M3 6DP
Salary, pension and benefits: Competitive dependent upon the skills and experience of the candidate
About:
The role of Caretaker will integrate and unify maintenance support across the Church, House, Centre and a building currently under development (the former Education Office) which will provide residential support and potentially other ancillary facilities.
Home to the Central Services of the Diocese, the Cathedral Centre is a well-used conference facility for many organisations across the Diocese. The Cathedral House accommodates some of our retired clergy.
What we’re looking for:
The Caretaker will be a reliable and self-motivated individual who will provide general caretaking support to the interior and exterior of the campus. The Caretaker will ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all and maintain facilities to the highest standards.
They will be flexible and proactive in their approach to work and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll need:
The Caretaker will be experienced in caretaking buildings, including cleaning interiors and DIY. They will be familiar with alarm systems, security, cleaning and caretaking operations.
The successful candidate will be competent with IT including MS Office and have good organisational and prioritisation skills. They will be able to complete routine paperwork and keep accurate records as well as carry out basic repairs and maintenance, using relevant equipment.
Good communication skills, cooperation with colleagues, and the ability to work sensitively with different groups is crucial.
