A Day in the Life of a Parish Priest

The National Office for Vocations has created two short videos to help people discover more about everyday life as a parish priest.

Whether you’re discerning a vocation to the priesthood and would like to learn more about the reality of the ministry, or would like to know more about the work of our priests beyond the four walls of our parish churches, these videos are a fantastic way to discover more about the varied work of our priests!

If you would like to learn more or speak with a member of our vocations team, please email vocations@dioceseofsalford.org.uk or call 0161 817 2226.

Video 1

Tune into our first video as we catch up with parish priests from across England and Wales who reveal more about their day-to-day ministry, from hospital chaplaincy, university chaplaincy, work with local schools, marriage preparation, morning Mass and more.

Video 2

Our second video introduces us to more stories from priests across the country to learn more about the breadth of work our priests undertake in their everyday ministry.

This latest video highlights the impact our priests can have in the local community, as we learn more about family visits, accompaniment in grief, welcoming people into the Church, evangelisation, and encouraging people to live out the Gospel through concrete action.
